Funding
The three levels of government in Australia offer financial support for improved environmental management of public and private
land. All these schemes have their own guidelines, timelines, application forms and processes.
Bellinger Landcare Inc offers assistance with project development and application writing. For a good application with a good
chance of success, thorough project planning is essential. This takes time and we encourage all interested landholders to plan
their projects well in advance of any funding deadlines.
This page is updated regularly to reflect funding opportunities as they come up. The biggest and latest change to the funding scene are changes to Australian Government funding including the removal of Envirofund and Community Water Grants programs from the funding scene.
Federal Government Funding
Caring for our Country
Caring for our Country is the Austrailan Government's new natural resource management program. Caring for our Country is designed as an integrated package with a business approach to investment, clearly articulated outcomes and priorities and improved accountability. It will commence on 1 July 2008 and will integrate delivery of the Commonwealth's existing natural resource management programs, the Natural Heritage Trust, the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality, the National Landcare Program, the Environmental Stewardship Program and the Working on Country Indigenous land and environmental program.

Caring for Country Open Grants targeting larger integrated projects: closes 1 August 2008
Community Coastcare for coastal zone projects: closes 25th July 2008
Working on Country for projects on indigenous lands: closes closes 11th August 2008

State Government Funding
Environmental Trust Grants are currently closed. Announcements of successful grants expected in November for Eco Schools ,Protecting our Places and Restoration & Rehabilitation projects. For further information visit

Regional Funding
Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority has a number of projects that offer incentives funding and support for a variety
